- 3 days in office, 2 from home
- National and international travel may be required
- Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 plus super
The Role: The Technical Event Producer will be responsible for the technical development and delivery of live events, experiences and exhibitions from initial concept through to onsite execution. Working closely with the Creative, Production and Client Services teams, this role will take creative concepts and develop technically achievable solutions that balance creativity, practicality, budget, safety and operational requirements. The Technical Event Producer will have a strong understanding of live event technology and production and will work closely with specialist suppliers and technical crews to ensure projects are delivered successfully from concept through to installation, rehearsals, live operation and dismantle.
Key responsibilities will include: - Work with Creative and Production teams to transform concepts into technically achievable event solutions.
- Develop technical solutions that balance creative ambition, feasibility, budget, safety and operational requirements.
- Manage the technical delivery of projects from concept development through to onsite execution.
- Prepare and manage technical budgets, identifying opportunities for efficiencies and value.
- Brief, tender and manage technical suppliers and specialist production partners.
- Review supplier proposals and ensure technical solutions meet project requirements.
- Coordinate technical design, drawings, specifications, equipment schedules and production documentation.
- Manage technical requirements across lighting, audio, vision, rigging and staging.
- Oversee installation, rehearsals, live event operation and dismantle.
- Work collaboratively across Creative, Production, Design, Strategy and Client Services teams.
- Provide practical and innovative solutions to technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all technical elements are delivered safely and to a high standard.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, production crews and internal stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with emerging event technologies, production techniques and industry best practice.
- Travel nationally when required to support the delivery of events and experiences.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have experience working as a Technical Event Producer, Technical Production Manager or within a similar technical events role and will possess a strong understanding of the technical requirements involved in delivering live events. You will be comfortable working across a range of event technologies and have the ability to turn creative ideas into practical and commercially viable technical solutions.
The successful candidate will also have:
- Experience delivering the technical production of live events, experiences and/or exhibitions.
- Strong knowledge of lighting, audio, vision, rigging and staging requirements.
- Experience managing technical suppliers and production crews.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications and production documentation.
- Experience preparing and managing technical production budgets.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance creative ambition with project budgets.
- Experience with Vectorworks would be highly regarded, or a willingness to become proficient.
- Excellent supplier and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused onsite.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work closely with creative and production teams.
- A strong understanding of event safety and risk management requirements.
- A proactive approach and genuine interest in emerging event technology.
- A current valid driver's licence.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally when projects require.
