The Company:This brilliant Hospitality Group aims to provide the highest-level of hospitality service to their guests, whether it be through restaurants, hotels, bars, or events. Serving the Australian hospitality scene for over 50 years, they are looking for a Senior Weddings & Events Sales Manager to join their team at one of their most sought after venues, located just north of Canberra.
Position Terms: - Full-time, permanent role
- Working 3 days in the venue, 2 from head office (venue located north of Canberra)
- Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 plus super plus comms (depending on experience)
- Relocation package available.
The Role:
The Senior Weddings & Events Sales Manager will be responsible for the business development, sales, planning, and delivery of events across the venue, ensuring exceptional client experiences and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Drive weddings and event revenue for the venue, including corporate events, weddings, and special events.
- Provide an exceptional guest experience at all touch points across the client customer journey, including customer portal management using the chosen CRM.
- Drive sales by providing accurate and timely quotations and contracts for conferences, weddings, and special events, covering venue, menu and accommodation costs to enhance the success of events.
- Conduct site inspections on-site ensuring brand standards, service quality and guest satisfaction are upheld.
- Develop and implement appropriate strategies to drive new business into the venue, including new business opportunities.
- Conduct annual wedding open days on-site, working with the marketing team to successful deliver the event.
- Coordination of events, including the creation of event orders to ensure seamless delivery on the day.
- Liaise with the operations and kitchen teams to ensure high quality, impeccable service and experience is provided to clients.
- Develop and maintain a contact and customer database with IVvy / Tripleseat.
- Respond to client enquiries via a range of channels including by telephone, email, online enquiries and walk-ins.
- Develop strong business partnerships with suppliers and identifying possible new suppliers to work with.
- Manage and maintain accurate LCD Signage for all events.
- Ensuring accounts are maintained and open folios are managed in line with accounting expectations.
- Provide continuous courteous, friendly customer driven service and project an attitude of enthusiasm and flexibility.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working within sales, business development, and events within a Venue or Hospitality environment. Exceptional negotiation, client management, and sales management skills are essential for this role.
- Experience with Tripleseat and/or IvvY is preferred.
- Business development skills with the ability to drive new business and nurture enquiries.
- Strong organisational and coordination abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with a wide range of clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple events and tight deadlines.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills, including confident negotiation capabilities.
- A proactive and solution focused mindset, particularly in high-pressure or dynamic situations.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when resolving conflict or unexpected challenges.
- Ability to work a regular working week from Tuesday–Saturday, based on-site at the Venue 2-3 days per week as required (venue located north of Canberra).
