The Company:

This leading events supplier are a dynamic live‐events production company delivering high‐quality shows across corporate events, festivals, and other live environments. Priding themselves on innovation, reliability and creating outstanding audience experiences, they are looking for a Lighting Technician to join their Perth-based team. 

Position Terms:
  • Full-Time Permanent Role
  • Working full-time in the office/on-site, including regional locations
  • Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 plus super (depending on experience)
The Role:

The Lighting Technician will design, prepare, install and operate professional lighting systems for a wide range of live-event environments. This role ensures that lighting contributes effectively to the overall production vision, meets technical standards, delivers on time and under pressure, and enhances client satisfaction and audience experience.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Operate industry-standard lighting consoles (e.g., MA3 and MA2) and deliver lighting programming and operation for live events.
  • Design lighting rigs/systems in collaboration with the production/lighting designer, taking into account venue, show requirements, budget and client brief.
  • Prepare and pre-programme lighting cues, ensure correct configuration of DMX, networking and intelligent lighting systems.
  • Install and set up lighting equipment on site: rigging, focusing, energy & safety checks, cable management, control systems.
  • Operate lighting during the event: cue execution, troubleshooting, live changes, coordination with audio/vision/staging teams.
  • Assist in other AV disciplines (audio, vision, staging) when required, demonstrating flexibility.
  • Maintain lighting inventory: regular servicing, fault-finding, cleaning, updating equipment logs and assisting in procurement.
  • Maintain safety at all times: compliance with rigging, EWP, electrical safety, manual handling and company health & safety procedures.
  • Provide excellent client-facing service: liaise with clients or onsite contacts, communicate effectively, represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Work under pressure and within tight deadlines, often in dynamic live-event environments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement: suggest better practices, participate in training, support sustainable & diverse industry practices.
The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have proven experience in lighting operation, setup and design for live events. A strong understanding of DMX, lighting networks, intelligent fixtures, and relevant lighting systems is essential for this role.
  • Hands-on expertise with lighting consoles (MA3 and MA2 **Both Essential**, Chamsys or Avolites) for live production environments.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, adapt to changing demands and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and client‐facing skills.
  • A valid Rigger’s Ticket and/or EWP licence is desirable.
  • A valid driver's license is essential.
  • Experience in other AV disciplines (lighting, vision, staging) is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work in the office/on-site full-time.
  • Ability to travel for event delivery when required.
