The Company:
This leading Events Supplier delivers event and exhibition equipment and infrastructure across Australia. With offices nationwide, they are seeking a Head of Technical Operations to join their Sydney-based team and lead the operational delivery of all technical productions.

- Working full-time in the office
- Salary: $130,000 plus super
The Role:
The Head of Technical Operations is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end technical delivery of all productions, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and excellence across every project. This role leads the operational function of the Productions Team, managing resources and processes to deliver seamless event execution.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Oversee the delivery of all technical projects from planning through to execution and completion
- Ensure all jobs are resourced, scheduled, and delivered efficiently across multiple concurrent projects
- Implement and refine operational processes to improve workflow, consistency, and output
- Act as the senior escalation point for operational and technical challenges
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client expectations
- Oversee labour planning, crew allocation, and scheduling across all projects
- Review project documentation including equipment bookings, costings, and schedules
- Manage operational logistics including bump in/out schedules, load lists, and transport planning
- Maintain strong oversight across all technical disciplines including audio, lighting, video, LED, networking, and broadcast systems
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be an experienced technical operations leader with a strong background in event production or corporate AV, and a proven ability to manage teams, processes, and large-scale delivery.
- Advanced technical knowledge across audio, lighting, video, LED, switching, networking, broadcast/streaming, and rigging
- Strong experience in operational leadership within live events, production, or AV environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and confidence working under pressure
- High-level documentation skills (CAD, Vectorworks, signal flow diagrams, schematics)
- Strong organisational and process-driven mindset
- Ability to work full-time in the office and travel for event delivery when required
