The Company:

This leading events supplier are a dynamic live‐events production company delivering high‐quality shows across corporate events, festivals, and other live environments. Priding themselves on innovation, reliability and creating outstanding audience experiences, they are looking for a Head of Audio to join their Perth-based team. 

Position Terms:

  • Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 plus super (depending on experience)
The Role:

The Head of Audio reports to the Director of Production and will be responsible for overseeing all audio operations across all events, this includes system design, technical leadership, crew management, and hands-on operation of touring-level audio systems. The role ensures audio solutions meet creative, technical, safety, and budgetary requirements while delivering exceptional outcomes for clients and audiences.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Lead the design, preparation, installation, and operation of professional touring-level audio systems for live events, festivals, and corporate productions.
  • Act as the primary technical authority for audio, setting standards, workflows, and best practices across the company.
  • Design scalable audio systems considering venue acoustics, touring requirements, budgets, and client briefs.
  • Operate and supervise FOH and/or monitor positions during events, ensuring consistent, high-quality audio delivery.
  • Operate and program industry-standard consoles, including MA3 (mandatory), as well as DiGiCo, Midas, Yamaha, Avid, or similar platforms.
  • Configure and manage complex audio systems including RF coordination, networking (Dante/AVB), digital stage boxes, playback systems, and redundancy workflows.
  • Oversee installation of PA systems, monitors, microphones, control systems, and infrastructure for touring and one-off events.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in real time and provide decisive solutions under show conditions.
  • Lead, mentor, and support audio technicians and freelancers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team culture.
  • Allocate crew roles, manage audio staffing requirements, and support onboarding and training.
  • Work closely with Production, Lighting, Vision, and Staging departments to ensure seamless show integration.
  • Oversee audio inventory management, including maintenance schedules, fault diagnosis, equipment logs, and input into procurement decisions.
  • Act as a senior client-facing representative for audio, communicating clearly and professionally with clients, artists, and stakeholders.
  • Translate creative and technical briefs into practical audio solutions that exceed expectations.
The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in touring-level audio and large scale live event production. Proven leadership experience within an audio department or senior audio role is essential. Proficiency on MA3 audio consoles is mandatory for this role.
  • Strong understanding of signal flow, RF coordination, Dante/AVB networking, and complex system design.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain attention to detail in live environments.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with professional audio consoles (DiGiCo, Midas, Yamaha, Avid, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Experience working across festivals, touring productions, and large corporate events.
  • Cross-discipline knowledge (lighting, vision, staging) or strong collaborative experience with those departments.
  • EWP licence or other relevant technical certifications are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work from the office/on-site full-time, with the ability to work outside of normal business hours for event delivery when required.
