This leading Hospitality Group are passionate about providing unique and world-class events for their clients. With a team across a range of functions, they are looking for a General Manager of Sales & Marketing to lead the Sales and Marketing in the hospitality and events industry. 

Position Terms:
  • Full-time, permanent role
  • Working 5 days a week in the office
  • Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 plus super plus bonuses
The Role:

The General Manager of Sales & Marketing will oversee sales, marketing, business development, and revenue management, to drive sustainable growth and profitability. This role requires a strategic visionary who can align General Manager of Sales & Marketing functional teams, optimise pricing and distribution strategies, and cultivate strong relationships with key clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with company financial objectives.
  • Identify revenue streams and sales opportunities of all business units.
  • Oversee sales teams to ensure achievement of targets for venue sales and event management services.
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients, event organisers and partners.
  • Align marketing to drive sales, brand awareness, and customer engagement.
  • Develop marketing strategy to achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Identify and secure strategic partnerships, and corporate agreements.
  • Expand into new markets and customer segments to increase market share.
  • Optimise pricing strategies and venue packages to maximise profitability.
  • Collaborate on forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis for all revenue streams.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in sales, marketing and event management.
  • Foster departmental collaboration to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to track performance, refine strategies, and inform decision-making.
  • Monitor key metrics such as venue occupancy rates, event spends and event profitability.
  • Ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience at all touch points.
The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have strong sales and marketing experience within the events and/or hospitality industry. Proven experience in leadership and people management is essential for this role. 
  • Proven experience in sales leadership roles within hospitality and/or events.
  • Strong expertise in sales, marketing and revenue management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales analytics and forecasting tools.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work from the office 5 days a week.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours and weekends for events when required.
