The Company:

This Hospitality Group is a power house in the space, there amazing team work tirelessly to plan and execute events, tailored to the clients needs with precision. They own and operate multiple venues in Melbourne and this role will work across multi-venues and manage the entire Event Planning and Production department.  

Position Terms:
  • Full-time permanent role
  • Working 5 days in the office with a rotating scheduling including weekend work
  • Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 plus super depending on experience
The Role:

The General Manager of Event Planning and Production will report into the Director of Operations. This role will be responsible for managing the corporate, social, and wedding producers, ensuring the event planning and production team coordinates and delivers exceptional events. Additionally, contribute to product growth and innovation; manage and develop direct reports; build and manage key supplier relationships; and work with sales and operations teams for seamless events. 

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Set the Vision: Develop and execute innovative strategies that align with the hospitality groups operational and financial goals.
  • Own the Process: Manage end-to-end planning and logistics for client events, delivering unmatched quality and precision.
  • Maximise Resources: Resource the event planning and production team and allocation to optimise efficiency and success.
  • Champion Excellence: Identify risks, implement contingency plans, and continuously enhance our processes.
  • Inspire the Team: Lead, mentor, and develop a talented planning team, fostering a culture of growth and creativity.
  • Collaborate to Succeed: Work across departments to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Drive Results: Monitor performance metrics, provide insights, and celebrate wins with the leadership team.
  • Ensure the Production team facilitate every client need where possible, checking operational concerns with management where necessary. 
  • Review and implement company standard operating procedures in event management and producing of client events.
  • Where required, be present and involved on events with large production elements working closely with the operations team to execute.
  • Lead by example and ensure all Producers are providing ideas and recommendations to clients that will enhance their event and create unique experiences for their guests.
  • Develop the capability of the Senior Production Team, and ensure the Senior Producers are developing their direct reports similarly.
  • Interact and liaise with internal production and sales staff, operations teams, people and culture, marketing, and accounts departments.
  • Interact and liaise with external guests/visitors, food and beverage vendors, suppliers, health department and liquor inspectors.
  • Remain knowledgeable of all operation guidelines for all venues and ensure compliance is upheld by the Production team.
The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading event production, producing and delivering weddings, social events, and corporate events. The candidate will have excellent leadership skills, and be a great communicator, with previous experience managing large teams.
