Position Terms:
- Full-time Permanent Role
- 4 days in the office, Tuesday optional WFH
- Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 plus super depending on experience
The Role:
The General Manager role will be responsible for the business strategy, operations, financial goals, people and culture, and the resulting outcomes. The General Manager will work closely with the Founder to ensure day-to-day and long-term operations and business strategy run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Business Strategy & Planning (Short and Long Term)
- Design strategy and set goals that deliver business growth and innovation.
- Set and constantly improve company policies and processes to support business goals and objectives.
- Oversee, evaluate and improve business operations.
- Identify and implement ways to evolve, improve and innovate the processes of the Agency to ensure processes are as efficient and effective as possible and deliver beyond client expectations.
- Contribute to new business growth by identifying new clients and opportunities, and securing new business through the pitch and proposal stage.
- Develop, foster and maintain key client relationships.
- People & Culture Management
- Develop and maintain an effective and positive work environment that delivers success.
- Oversee recruitment, resourcing and training.
- Performance management, including development and management of key performance goals.
- Develop recognition and reward strategies and plans to support business goals and maintain employee satisfaction.
- Manage multiple senior team members, and the teams that report into those roles.
- Communicate vision and goals to the team.
- Financial Management
- Set financial goals and budgets as part of the business strategy and growth plan.
- Manage and analyse project and events results.
- Manage operational and resourcing budgets to optimise efficiencies.
- Improve financial performance and meet financial goals.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the events industry, with recent experience working in a senior-level management role within an events agency. The candidate will possess exceptional business acumen, operational knowledge, and communication skills.
- Experience in team management, training and development, and leadership.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement effective business strategies.
- Proven track record of driving growth and profitability through innovative and forward-thinking approaches.
- In-depth knowledge of the events industry, including trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, sales, business development, etc.
