The Company:

This well-known corporate company is known for its strong community presence and customer-first ethos. With a national footprint and a culture that values creativity and connection, their in-house Events Team leads the management of delivering engaging experiences and events across Australia. They're looking for an Events Lead to join their team to lead the management and delivery of a range of trade shows, expos and roadshows.

Position Terms:
  • Full-Time Permanent Role
  • Working 3 days a week in the office, located in Hawthorn
  • Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 plus super (depending on experience)
  • Ability to travel regularly for event delivery (12+ times a year for 1+ week at a time)
The Role:

The Events Lead will report into the Events Director and will be responsible for organising and executing events across Australia & New Zealand. The role will contribute to the organising, project managing and executing of corporate events for the company, specifically taking the event management lead on trade shows, expos and roadshows.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Manage the entire end to end planning and strategy for 12 major events per year. 
  • Lead, manage and mentor one direct report in the team. 
  • Work with the larger Events team on setting objectives with focus on evaluation for continual innovation, cost reduction and continued success of all events undertaken.
  • Build strong relationships with external event management/agency providers to deliver cost effective, integrated and value events.
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and agencies to ensure successful evolution and implementation of all events and programs end-to-end.
  • Ensure delivery of all activities in line with brand strategies.
  • Ensure consistency and best practice execution of all events.
  • Deliver projects and support activities on time and within budget, including all scheduling and reporting as required.
  • Execute events on-site, ensuring successful delivery and attendee satisfaction.
The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have experience working within a corporate environment with extensive experience project managing trade shows, expos and/or roadshows end-to-end. Expertise in agency management and the ability to develop and maintain mutually respectful partnerships with suppliers is favourable for this role.
  • Exceptionally well organised with strong planning and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to independently project manage events end-to-end.
  • Ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Practical and commercial understanding of operational issues.
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills and high level of interpersonal skills.
  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to train and mentor junior team members.
  • Strong focus on quality and attention to detail delivered in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written skills and demonstrated ability to deliver events specifically for target audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-divisional or multi-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to advise and provide recommendations to the senior stakeholders on internal communications.
  • Understanding of marketing practices and how they feed into successful event delivery.
  • Experience in event management software EventsAIR is desirable.
  • Ability to travel regularly across Australia & New Zealand for event delivery (12+ times a year for 1+ week at a time)
  • Ability to work in the office 3 days a week, located in Hawthorn.
