Events & Communications Specialist - Part-Time

The Company:

This sensational association prides themselves on advocating and representing their industry as well as continuously seeking out products and services that will help the operational efficiencies of their members. They deliver a range of events for their members and for their wider industry, and are looking for an Events & Communications Specialist to join their team on a permanent part-time basis.

Position Terms:
  • Permanent Part-Time: 3 days a week (18 hours)
  • Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 plus super pro rata for 18 hours per week
The Role:

The Events & Communications Specialist will play a critical role in delivering the Association's events as well as supporting marketing & communications activities. This role ensures exceptional event experiences for members and stakeholders while driving engagement through effective communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Create, plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of events.
  • Manage event logistics.
  • Devise budgets, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including event management agency, media agencies, marketing and communication agencies.
  • Work closely with external Events Management working group to bring to life events and activations within budget and on time.
  • Source new sponsorships and partnerships; negotiate agreements and ensure all entitlements and deliverables are met.
  • Manage contracts, sponsorship and partnership agreements.
  • Initiate new event concepts for Management review and agreement with budgets and devise communications plans associated.
  • Introduce new communications methods into the event function such as webinars and podcasts.
  • Create and schedule content (eDM, blog, social etc)
  • Create, update and maintain website content, ensuring accuracy and engagement.
  • Create, distribute and schedule newsletters to members and stakeholders.
  • Manage CRM activities in HubSpot, including workflows, contact updates, and track campaigns in HubSpot.
  • Track event performance metrics, sponsorship ROI, and engagement data.
  • Develop post-event reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have experience working in an Association with strong event management, communications and marketing skills. Strong organisational, time management, and attention to detail skills are essential for this role.
  • Demonstrate creativity and initiative in event planning and marketing.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with sponsors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Be confident in using digital tools and platforms, particularly HubSpot and WordPress.
  • Experience in event coordination and marketing and/or communications roles.
  • Experience sourcing and managing sponsorships is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work from the office 3 days a week, located in Homebush.
  • Ability to travel for event delivery when required.
