The Company:This fantastic association have been serving their industry for over 100 years. Passionate about delivering exceptional events and educational services to their members, they are looking for an Event Manager to join their team on a 6 Month Contract basis to assist with an upcoming busy period of events.
Position Terms: - Full-Time 6 Month Contract Role
- Working 2 days in office, with WFH the other 3
- Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 plus super pro rata
- Proficiency in Cvent is essential
The Role:
The Event Manager will report into the Head of Events, and will be responsible for overseeing and managing a range of upcoming events, including a national awards night and gala dinner. The Event Manager will also be responsible for liaising with and managing external agencies to ensure successful event delivery in line with the Association's goals.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Take ownership of the coordination and delivery of upcoming events.
- Manage external event agencies and suppliers, ensuring they are delivering in line with association expectations, brand standards, and timelines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency and alignment across event communications and operations.
- Support the finalisation of event logistics, including AV, catering, run sheets, and guest experience.
- Maintain strong relationships with MCs, speakers, venues, and sponsors, acting as the key point of contact in the lead-up to and during events.
- Oversee registration and guest communications, working alongside the marketing/comms team where relevant.
- Provide on-site support during events to ensure seamless execution.
- Post-event wrap-up including reporting, debriefs, and identifying areas for future improvement.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have experience working within an Association in an Event Manager position. Experience managing registrations via Cvent is essential for this role. The successful candidate will be be able to hit the ground running and confidently step into events already in the planning stages.
- Demonstrated experience working within structured event timelines and managing multiple moving parts.
- Confidence in managing third-party suppliers and event agencies/PCO's to a high standard.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Cvent.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to start immediately, and be available for the full 6 months.
- Ability to work in the office at least 2 days a week, located in CBD.
