The Company:

This leading association are the leaders in their sector. They are an influential not for profit, membership organisation which provides research and education and tackles major issues in their industry. Passionate about supporting their members, they are looking for an Event Manager to join their team. Running an annual calendar of events, their events are designed to connect, inform, challenge and inspire their members.

Position Terms:

  • Working 3 days in the office
  • Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 plus super
The Role:

The Event Manager will report to the Commercial Manager and be responsible for coordinating the delivery of events that provide exceptional value to the Association’s members, uphold and maintain the brand and reputation of the Association, meet financial budgets, and fulfil sponsor obligations.

Key Responsibilities;
  • Program coordination: maintain calendar of events, forward planning, alignment with budget and sponsorship obligations.
  • End-to end delivery of key events including setting up backend systems, speaker invitations and liaison, venue bookings, negotiations and table settings, logistics, run sheets, set up and pack down.
  • Provide support to the Member Engagement Manager by delivering events that are valuable to existing and prospective members and our sponsors.
  • Provide support to Commercial Manager by preparing and managing event budgets and delivering the target profit margins.
  • Liaising with our external event providers for the signature events and management of the providers to ensure all deliverables are met.
  • Deliver key events including preparatory work such as run sheets, logistics, slide decks, name tags etc.
  • Collaborate with the event coordinator, ensuring all events are delivered seamlessly with shared success.
  • Collaboration with marketing team to ensure events are marketed effectively.
  • Maintaining key information on the CRM system (Salesforce).
The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have experience working within an Association in an event management role. Exceptional stakeholder management, budget management, and event management skills are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small organisation with many stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of various computer software, including PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word and CRM i.e. Salesforce, Fonteva or similar.
  • Sound time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent event budgeting skills with proven track record of delivering events within budget.
  • Ability to work outside of hours for events when required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
