A growing conference and professional events business based in Sydney is looking for an experienced Delegate Sales Manager to join their commercial team. The company delivers a portfolio of conferences and training events across a range of professional sectors, bringing together senior decision makers and industry professionals. The Role:

The Delegate Sales Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of delegate sales across a number of conferences and training events. This is a hands on sales role with a strong focus on lead generation, outbound calling, relationship development, pipeline management and conversion. You will work closely with marketing and event production teams to understand event positioning, identify target audiences and ensure delegate sales activity is aligned with each event's objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Manage a portfolio of delegate sales across multiple events.
  • Work towards individual sales and revenue targets.
  • Proactively generate new delegate sales opportunities.
  • Conduct outbound sales activity across target audiences.
  • Build relationships with senior executives and industry professionals.
  • Research and identify relevant prospects for each event.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
  • Follow up leads and progress opportunities through to conversion.
  • Close delegate sales and maximise revenue across your portfolio.
  • Manage high value and strategic delegate opportunities where required.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline information.
  • Provide regular updates on sales activity, pipeline and forecasting.
  • Work closely with marketing and event production teams on event positioning and target audiences.
  • Support lead generation and audience segmentation activity.
  • Assist with improving outreach and conversion strategies.
  • Ensure timely issuing of delegate invoices and accurate record keeping.
  • Provide a high level of customer service throughout the sales process.
  • Support delegates with queries and ensure a positive experience from initial contact through to registration.
The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have previous experience within delegate sales, sponsorship sales, B2B sales or a similar commercially focused environment.
You will be confident managing your own sales pipeline, speaking with senior decision makers and working towards revenue targets. Experience within conferences, exhibitions, professional training or business events would be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will also have:
  • Previous experience in delegate sales, sponsorship sales or B2B sales.
  • A proven record of achieving individual sales targets.
  • Strong telephone based sales capability.
  • Confidence with outbound prospecting and lead generation.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Confidence engaging with senior executives and decision makers.
  • Strong pipeline management and forecasting capability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • HubSpot experience would be highly regarded.
  • A commercially focused and results driven approach.
  • The ability to manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously.
  • A proactive and resilient mindset.
  • Strong collaboration skills across sales, marketing and event production teams.
  • A genuine interest in conferences, events and professional audiences.
