The Company:

This not for profit organisation is one of the largest in Victoria, providing providing services and support including educational, social welfare and administrative support for other organisations they manage. Under the guidance of four key priorities outlined by the head of the NFP, the works and activities of the organisation are oriented towards an educational focus to address the ongoing needs of: Local Communities; Families; Youth and Young Adults. 

The Role:

Each year the organisation hosts and manages a large number of functions and events. The Senior Events Manager is the single and key point of co-ordination and management for all these events and functions. The Senior Events Manager will work with key internal stakeholders to maintain the functions and event calendar and ensure all functions and events are appropriately managed and co-ordinated. 

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine the priority and requirements for functions and events
  • Working in partnership with internal stakeholders, management and co-ordinate all elements functions and events.
  • Develop appropriate systems, databases and management tools for functions and events
  • Develop and maintain the functions and events calendar
  • Contribute to the effective functioning of the Development and Philanthropy team
  • You may require you to undertake other duties from time to time commensurate with your qualifications, knowledge, experience and ability.
  • Takes reasonable care to protect the health and safety of themselves, fellow staff and others in the workplace.
The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise work, with an excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills. High level attention to detail is required in this role, along with the ability to work quickly and efficiently and handle the needs to various stakeholders within the organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing events
  • Demonstrated experience prioritising and coordinating multiple events concurrently
  • Experience in delivering events both in person and online
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite – especially Excel 
  • Excellent project management skills 
  • High level interpersonal skills including the ability to engage with and establish strong working relationships with the community, other organisations, and internal teams 
  • Ability to multi-task and work quickly and efficiently.
  • High level of integrity, honesty and confidentiality, with an awareness and appreciation of educational events 
  • Ability to work collaboratively within and across departments, agencies.
