The Company:


A global B2B conference and exhibition agency that is a powerhouse in the market, and is transforming business around the world, is looking for new team members to join their Sydney office. With offices in most major capital cities in the world, they are now looking for a new Marketing Manager in their Sydney office. 

 
The Role:

The Marketing Manager role reports into the CEO of the Australian Division and is responsible for all the marketing and communications of all the conferences, exhibitions and events within their portfolio of events within Australia. This role is responsible for ensuring all marketing and communications about the events maximises the numbers of paying delegates, as well as attracting potential sponsors and exhibitors to the events. 

Key responsibilities will include;
  • Managing and handling all marketing activities related to your assigned events – from concept to execution, including:
    • Preparing an integrated direct marketing plan and budget for each conference, exhibition or event
    • Prepare a SWOT Analysis for each event
    • Developing and maintaining brand and image for each event
    • Managing social media channels
    • Managing and building targeted databases
    • Involving partners, media, endorsing bodies, supporting bodies
    • Briefing the sales teams on the marketing campaign for the event
    • Implementing a PR campaign
  • Coordinating internal staff and external suppliers to ensure the marketing plan is implemented and all marketing activities are completed effectively, on schedule, and within budget
  • Ensuring accurate and timely management of multiple campaigns
  • Managing, maintaining and building our customer database/lists/CRM
  • Using the company’s CRM to make targeted selections, set up and send email/post/tele- campaigns, and monitor the responses
  • List research and data entry, including employing and managing list researchers/database analysts
  • Sourcing new data for post, email and telesales
  • Handling the production of all brochures, flyers, tickets and letters
  • Negotiating marketing and promotional partnerships with media, publications, associations and industry bodies (i.e. ‘Partner Marketing’)
  • Contacting speakers, sponsors and other to negotiate ‘Partner Marketing’ deals
  • Writing effective copy for marketing campaigns, event web sites, EDMs and sales cover letters
  • Writing copy for online and print adverts
  • eMarketing, viral and social media
  • PR and press releases
  • Liaising and negotiating with suppliers (printers, mailhouse, publishers)
  • Proof read all outgoing communications when required 
  • Sponsorship and exhibition promotion assisting with the sales team to develop content for the required documentation 
  • Managing marketing budgets for your portfolio of events 
The Candidate: 

With previous experience working as a Marketing Coordinator or Marketing Manager within a B2B Conference environment, you will be looking for your next step up and want to work for a global powerhouse. 
  • Experience in marketing and social media within events preferrably within the B2B space 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Salesforce, EDM creation and social media systems
  • Research skills and ability to work autonomously 
  • Technically savvy, as the role will require you to work with lots of different CRM and Marketing systems  
  • Experience in developing and managing professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Outstanding copy writing ability
