The Company:

An exhibition and conference organiser based in Sydney are looking for a great new team member to lead their Conference Producer team. The company are a fast growing business information and networking provider that prides themselves on delivering leading events within their sector. 

The Role:

The Divisional Director role is a Head of Conference Production position for this agency and is a senior leadership position managing a team. This role reports into the Managing Director of the business and the primary responsibility of this role will be to develop a forward schedule of well researched event concepts, and ensure that the production team develop these events in a timely manner and at a high standard. 

Key responsibilities will include: 
  • In developing the forawrd schedule of events this role must develop new conference ideas as well as expand and improve the scale and profitability of existing events
  • Research ideas with key stakeholders in each sector to identify the commercial viability of those event ideas and the best strategy for execution 
  • This role will work closely with the CMO, Head of Sales and Event Managers to ensure the event achieves the best financial results possible, as well as delivers an excellent experience for attendees, sponsors and speakers
  • This role will also be responsible for the quality of all copy leaving the production team, including conference brochures, EDMs, editorials and any other marketing material
  • This role is responsible for managing, recruiting, training and developing the producers working within the team 
  • This role will have full P&L responsiblity for the events within this division, with budgets signed off by the MD
  • This role will develop a business plan for event event with the conference producer team which includes size of market, geo breakdown, list of key players, latest trends and development and identifies key industry leaders who can be potential speakers
  • This role will develop and foster relationships with key stakeholders in sectors in which the agency is currently organising events or looking to organise events in future
The Candidate: 

This role is looking for a candidate to have either been a Head of Conference Production or a Senior Conference Producer previously that is looking for the next step or a new challenging role. You will have had extensive experience researching and developing content as well as ideas for conferences, exhibitions and seminars. You will have managed other Conference Producers and the content and events they have produced previously and been responsible for large budgets. 
  • Senior level ability to create content and research new emerging concepts within the market
  • Ability to develop business plans and have had previous experience managing full P&L for events and major budgets 
  • An understanding of the current conference market, key stakeholders, speakers and trends 
  • Extensive experience conducting research and developing new ideas for the market
  • A high level of energy, enthusiasm, creativity and drive to succeed
