The Company:

This boutique events agency made the decision last year to become a completely remote agency with all their staff working from homes around Australia. The company is a boutique agency with a current team of 9 staff but will grow over the next few years. This role is actually a maternity leave placement - covering for a staff member we have previously placed in their role. 

The Role:

The Director of Business Development will report into the General Manager of the agency and be responsible for the end to end sales process for the organisation. In partnership with the General Manager this role will develop and execute a sales strategy utilizing the company sales framework and will work toward achieving ongoing sales results. 

Key responsibilities will include:  
  • Researching the industry, networking, identifying potential target clients including decision makers, influencers and key stakeholders 
  • Development and ongoing management of a target sales framework and will work toward achieving ongoing sales results, the key metric for success
  • Develop, strengthen and maintain relationships with key contacts throughout the sales lifecycle to build trust and likelihood to achieve opportunities to bid and win
  • Create great proposals and exceed presentation expectations whilst managing smart negotiations, starting from bid interpretation, winning strategy development, solution design, budget and pricing preparation 
  • Continue to build knowledge and relationships constantly looking for expansion opportunities, network opportunities and referral opportunities
  • Ensure you keep robust records of all activities and pipeline through the CRM and complete records will form a portion of the positions KPIs
The Candidate: 

The role is a 10 month contract position and the person will need to be available for the contract period. The candidate will have Business Development experience, a hunter mentality and also have events experience. 
  • Client relationship management and major pitching experience
  • Senior level strategy, management and growth experience 
  • Strong relationship builder and networker that is great at finding the right people within organisations to deal with and further grows those relationships and leverages connections
  • Senior level sales and business development experience 
  • Thinking outside the box and an ability to create compelling presentations 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and strategic time management skills 
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, innovative, self motivator, inspiring and results driven
  • Clear budgeting and costing experience
