The Company:

A major hospitality and catering group are looking for a National Director of Events to manage a team of 8 Events Managers and manage this sector of the business. This organisation has a great reputation in the space managing multiple venues, handling external catering for events and working on some of the largest outdoor events in Australia. 
  
The Role:

The National Director of Events role will report into the Director of Sales and manage a team. The role will be responsible for ensuring all team members are managing their portfolio of events, hitting targets and all clients requirements are met.  
 
Key responsibilities will include;
  • Management of a team of senior events professionals 
  • Leadership and mentoring of the team to challenge them to the next level
  • Great relationship building skills 
  • Ensuring the team meets all their KPIs and targets 
  • Managing the budgets and profit and loss for the team 
  • Managing senior level client relationships 
  • Management of end to end large scale events 
  • Up-selling all client services to existing and new clients at all times
The Candidate: 

The ideal background would be someone who has leadership experience from a hospitality, catering, convention centre or hotel background. Someone that has managed teams of events professionals and has a passion for food and beverage and the hospitality industry as a whole. 
  • Extensive experience as a leader within the spaces mentioned above 
  • Experience managing large scale food and beverage events 
  • Exceptional client and supplier relationship management skills
  • Be highly motivated and results driven with exceptional organisational skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement experience
  • Creative with an ability to write concepts, content understanding, scripts and develop proposals
  • Must love events and have a strong passion for events culture
  • Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, innovative, inspiring and results driven
  • Be proactive and able to make decisions
  • Sound budget management experience 
  • Sound judgement and decision making
