The Company:
This brilliant Events Agency specialises in executing conferences, award programs and corporate events for a range of clients. They are launching a new division of their agency to focus on developing their own proprietary events, which is why they are looking for a Program Manager to join their team to lead the research, planning and development of owned events.
Position Terms:
- Full-Time Permanent Role, or 6-12 Month Contract Role
- Working 3 day a week from the office located in North Sydney
- Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 plus super depending on experience
The Role:
The Program Manager role will report to the Director but will be solely responsible for researching, developing and executing an entire new program of owned proprietary events. This role will ensure each event is meticulously researched, financially viable, and strategically timed. This is a hands-on role in the early stages of the new division, with significant growth potential.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Research and identify new event opportunities in emerging industries.
- Conduct competitor analysis to assess market condition, competition, and potential challenges.
- Research and identify trending topics and critical issues in various industries.
- Collaborate with industry experts to shape relevant and impactful event agendas.
- Form and manage advisory boards to support event planning and content development.
- Source, liaise with, and secure high-profile speakers for events.
- Recommend ticket pricing, sponsorship packages, and event duration based on market research.
- Assess the financial feasibility of events, creating budgets and revenue projections.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement marketing strategies for the events.
- Provide strategic input on event promotion, attendee acquisition, and sponsorship opportunities.
- Assist with securing event sponsorships and developing sponsorship proposals when required.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within B2B Event Agencies with a focus on researching trends, content development, speaker engagement and management, agenda development and event strategy. A strong understanding of market research and competitor analysis is required for this position.

- Experienced in bringing innovative and creative ideas to the table.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a startup-like environment.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with an eye for detail.
- Ability to create and manage event budgets, ensuring financial viability.
- Experience in agenda planning, including liaising with speakers and experts.
- Self-sufficient, with the ability to work independently in a new division.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in sponsorship development (advantageous but not essential).
- Ability to work at least 3 days a week in the office, located in North Sydney.
